Girls Basketball season is finally here! If you’ve never been to see the Lady Wolves compete, then you are missing out on one of the great traditions of Westside High School.  Early season games take place here on our campus, on our own home court, while District games will all be played in HISD field houses. So this is your opportunity to see a good game in the Wolf Den.

Varsity, JV and Freshmen teams will host pre-season games, complete with a stocked concession stand for your convenience. Coach Gillespie and his team hope you will make it out for a game or two. Opposing teams bring their fans, so come out and support the reigning back to back to back , District Champion Lady Wolves as they set out to retain their title.

The Lady Wolves have a stacked team this year.  Featuring senior standout, and Division 1 recruits Fatou Samb, and Kameryn Lewis, also a senior in the guard position. They will be sure to drive the ball to the bucket every game.  Rounding out our defense is “Blu” Vankey, a small forward who wants to lead the league in steals, and Trenece Charles, a junior,  playing her third season on varsity and recognized for her skill at boxing out the competition.

The next game on the calendar is against the Klein Bearkats. Tip-off at 4:00 for the freshmen team, with varsity expected to play at 5:30.

See you there!  Go Wolves.
