Hello Wolves,

Timing is everything, isn’t it?  For 4 or 5 years Westside didn’t have a student newspaper.  I thought we should, and with a small staff of 7, we began the Howler News.

Fast forward to 2016-17, and Howler News  staff has doubled in size, and tripled in ambition.  We are writing stories on the daily to tell you what is going on at Westside, in the Houston community, and in this important election year, across the country.

We are a diverse group.  All ages, and interests.  Boys and girls.  And fortunately, full of ideas for creating a “papersite”  that provides information, important and otherwise, to our campus.

Being a live paper, we can update constantly.  With few limitations, and revolving deadlines, there is always something new to read and see.  This staff is so incredibly ambitious, our editors can’t keep up.

I hope you will find something you like in our Howler News.  If you have a story idea, or a comment on one we have already published, let us know at [email protected]

On behalf of my editors and staff, thank you for giving us a read,

Sharon Roberts, Adviser
