Westside’s Winter Sports are in full swing.  Here’s an overview:

Basketball, girls and boys teams:  Freshman/JV/Varsity games are scheduled.  Varsity teams have a few more games on campus, then they switch to district play at either Butler or the Pavillion Field houses.

Swim:  Coach Sikema reports,

Westside swim team qualifiers traveled to Corpus Christi Thursday and competed in the TISCA Texas Regional swim meet Friday through Saturday.

60 high schools from Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi and the surrounding area and the valley area, were at this meet with hundreds of swimmers. It is a preliminaries (Friday) and finals (Saturday) swim meet format, where top 16 compete on Saturday for individual & team points. Westside did an awesome job swimming  and among the great results,

400yd Freestyle Relay – 1st (New team AND TISCA Regional meet record 3:36.70)

Stacey Cromie, Kaley Hoffman, Francesca Rusca, Alex Kuck

Golf:  Both the girls and boys’ teams will have a tournament next week, December 8th for the girls and the boys on the next day, December 9th.

Wrestling:  Out of town meets coming up, with one in the Lego Gym next week.
