We live in a world full of many technologies that serves as easy access to a wide variety of media, including, television, books, movies, the Internet and much more. The information that is provided through these medias has increase and many business and entertainment companies use the power of social media to their advantage.

Social media is more than an entertainment because people share there their experiences and there preferences through the social media platform. By targeting young adults and teenagers, spreading information, promotions and news on applications such has Twitter and Facebook is like a wild fire. Promotions through social media is very popular, since most people go for entertainment activities including films, televisions shows and real world news. “I check Twitter pretty often just see what our President Donald Trump is up too” says 10th grader Exilus Lewis.

The entertainment industries have been working with the advancements of social media. Today’s generation spends much of their time visiting social networking site, watching full- length television shows, movies, watching YouTube and using other tools. The entertainment business has dealt with the demands of this new generation by providing unique services. Social media is considered to be a linking device which allows people to multitask during their entertainment experiences by relating with others and sharing their opinions.

Poll results from “Hollywood Reporters” Websites

According to “The Hollywood Reporter”, they published a poll about social media which was conducted by the market research firm Penn Schoen Berland. Based upon the study 88% of the respondents view social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter as a form of entertainment.

In today’s era, our culture has been greatly impacted by the usage of social media. Though, sometimes social media can be used to promote negative things about celebrities, normal civilians, and much more, it keeps our world connected. So far the entertainment industry has kept up with the use of social media, but can they keep up? What will the future of social media look like?
