Update:  Our Varsity Girl’s Basketball team took a tough loss to Katy Tompkins in the first round of the playoffs, Tuesday night at Cinco Ranch HS.  Coach Gillespie’s team fought hard, but they were outmatched by a more experienced Tompkins squad. 

They now head into off season training, and summer league play.

Our always fierce Varsity Girl’s Basketball finished the regular season with an impressive 23 – 8 record.

Playoff season begins for our Lady Wolves on Tuesday, February 16th, at Cinco Ranch High School.  According to Head Coach Gillespie we have been matched with Katy Tompkins.  Tompkins is a strong team, which handed Westside their first loss of the season at the Spring Branch tournament last fall.

“Katy Tompkins always brings huge crowd, and it will take all of us, on and off the court.” Coach Gillespie tells the Howler News.  He goes on to add a thank you to the fans for supporting his team, and helping them grow.

Its a tough draw for the first round, no doubt, but a strong season has readied the team for a win.
