Wolves Varsity District Track Meet
On Thursday April 7th, 2022 through Saturday April 9th, 2022, our Wolves varsity track team went and competed at the 18-6A district track meet. In track, the district meet is the first qualifying, similar to the first round of playoffs for basketball or football. The top 4 places in the district progress to the area track meet.
At districts this past week, the girls team placed third overall, and the boys placed second. Team results:
Boys
For the boys, our Jahbari Kuykendall, took 1st place in the 100 meter dash, 2nd in the 200 meter dash, and he, accompanied by Olatomiwa Odunuga, Divine Afuke, and Aquincy Brown, got 1st place in the 4×100 meter relay. Jordan Edmonson got 1st place in the 400 meter dash and 4th in 800 meter run. The 4×400 meter relay team (Jordan Edmonson, Najii Anderson, Korey Colston, and Noah Roberts) came in 4th place. They also took 2nd place in long and triple jumps, as well as shot put and discus. and 4th place in high jump and discus.
Girls
For the girls, our Casei Clark took 1st place in triple jump, as well as 2nd in long jump, and 4th in the 200 meter dash. Krislyn Green placed 1st in shot put and 4th in discus, and Kyema Deshazer placed 2nd in high jump. The 4×100 meter relay team (Favian Williams, Precious Ohiaeri, Kamryn Johnson, and Jada Willet) got 3rd place, and the 4×200 meter relay team (Favian Williams, Elisha Franklin, Kamryn Johnson, and Jada Willet) got 4th. Rowan Williams placed 4th in the 100 meter hurdles.

All of these students qualified for the next “round” as well as David Griffith, Nick Hutchinson, and Jayden Gaines. They will be competing at the area track meet on April 21, 2022.
