The cheerleading team at Westside is a major crowd leading, spirit-raising, team that shows immense promise and talent through jumps, stunting, tumbling, and even elements of dance. COVID-19 has made its way across the world and over to the United States, causing many schools to shut down. The school closure has caused many athletic teams to move auditions and tryouts to virtual platforms.

Cheer tryouts this year will be held through google classroom and prospects will tryout by submitting videos of jumps, running and standing tumbling, a dance, and a cheer. Video submissions of these skills will be due by May 7 no later than 7 pm. The announcement of the cheer team for the 2020-2021 school year will be posted on May 8 at 7 pm on the Westside cheer page on the Westside website.

If you are looking to join this team, first join the google classroom using your school email address and fill out the online application by May 1 at 12 pm. On the google classroom, you will find a virtual tryout packet discussing how you will be judged and any other questions you may have.
