As we head into December, Westside’s winter sports team are set begin their seasons. Both the girls and boys basketball teams have a full slate of games.  Out of district games are held on campus, while varsity will play distric rivals at Delmar Field House.  The Lady Wolves take on Bellaire, Tuesday, December 1.  Game time is 5:30 pm.  Early in the season for a rivalry game.

Freshmen, junior varsity, and varsity Boys Basketball take on Kincaid, Friday, December 4 for a pre-season match up.  Games start at 4:30 in the Wolf Den.  Due to COVID restrictions crowd size will be limited.  While inside the gym, all spectators must wear face coverings, and maintain CDC guidance distancing.

Boys soccer is holding team tryouts November 30 – December 2.  To participate:

  • Bring a copy of your medical insurance. If a player does not have insurance, he must enroll in the school insurance program.  The cost is $35 (must be enrolled before the first day of tryouts. A reciept is required). The link for enrollment:  https://bit.ly/2UvHBxK 
  • The student player must have a printed copy of the physical, completed and signed by a doctor to be able to participate the day of tryouts.  You can find the physical form at this link:  https://bit.ly/3pAEqmN
  • For tryouts wear withe or black (jersey, shorts and soccer socks), shin guards and cleats while on the field.
  • All student athletes must be on time for tryouts to be able to participate.
