On October 27, 2016 Westside had a whole day of throwing it back into past time periods! Students were dressing way back from the 60’s through the 90’s! This was a great day that many Westside students were excited for because it was something different for their homecoming week.

Homecoming is a week for students and teachers to express their personality, creativity and have fun. Each day there was a theme. Starting with Monday Hawaiian day, Tuesday twin day, jersey day Wednesday, throwback Thursday and ending with blue out Friday. Throwback day was considered to be very enjoyable for many students and they looked forward to that specific day. Teachers participated in homecoming week and everyone came together with all their ideas making great high school memories. Joanne Koutani, sophomore had stated, “I go all out on throwback day because i think it is the most fun and it’s hilarious seeing others dress from the past.”

Junior, Joelle Obeid claims that throwback day was her favorite out of all. She said, “I find that throwback day is the best out of all because seeing people dress from the past is so funny and having the whole school going way back makes me want to live in the past. It is actually really cool and i like the way they dressed back then.”

Last year for seniors to attend this special day/week, Vanessa Jaber, senior said, “I am honestly going to miss all this fun, throwback day was too funny, it was a good experience because we live in a generation that is way different from the past.”
