One of the most anticipated events of any Homecoming week is the crowning of the court.  Westside votes on representatives from each class, with seniors only being in the running for the honor of being named the King and Queen.   This year’s  court is a great group of students who are involved in many activities here at Westside.

The homecoming Queen of 2016 is Ally Center, and actor and the president of our Theatre Production Company. The student media team took their time to interview this young lady and ask how it felt to be announced as the homecoming Queen, this was her response, ” To be honest I felt absolutely crazy, I couldn’t stop laughing because I really did not expect it at all. Everyone on the court was so nice, talented and smart and for some reason I won even though I’m weird. I was probably more excited for Tito, he really deserved it.” ally1Speaking of Tito, this WEGA member was the underdog within the nominations and excitingly won Homecoming King with roaring support from his peers.

No matter who won or  lost, the important message is that this was another great homecoming at Westside High School with an awesome pep rally, dance, victory against Sam Houston, beautiful house decorating, and of course, the lovely homecoming court.  We look forward to next year!
