Westside is normcore

You’ve probably seen elements of this style without having heard of it. How can something so normal and bland become a booming trend in the fashion industry and everyday life for Americans? What started out as an ironic statement in high fashion watered down into something everyone could wear and that’s precisely the reason it has ‘taken off.’ Not to mention many decade old trends such as Birkenstocks, being paired off with contrasting white tube socks mixing the old and new pieces creates a sense of nostalgic harmony. Whether the reasoning behind this style is for pure irony or sheer enjoyment of the clothes.
Many brands have found themselves to be at the highest demand to fit into the normcore style, such as Tommy Hilfiger sweaters, and old Adidas getting a second chance at life, being swiped off the shelves from your local thrift stores. Designers must be head over heels with this familiar cost-efficient style. Able to rehash vintage marketing and sell it off as unique and original but some would call this the circle of life for most fashion trends, within a few decades everything comes around once again, so the lesson to be learned is to save that fanny pack in the back of your closet, it may come in handy the day you decide to become a style icon.
