This is a visual of one of the donation boxes in the main office.
Calling Westside Community! Ms. Azadeh, a teacher assistance for Westside’s Special Education Department, is working with the Iranian Foundation to collect necessary and basic supplies for helping refugees. Specifically, supporting this collection in helping refugees situate or adjust themselves to living in Houston. These items include:
- Hygiene products: toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, soap, deodorant, lotions, other.
- Kids’ items: toys, diapers, gently used clothing, other.
- Non-perishable food: can foods, snacks, other.
- School supplies: notebook, pencil, pen, backpack, other.
- Other: bicycles are needed for transportation.
There will be a box in the Main Office to dropping off donations. In addition to this, Westside’s Health Occupations Students of America or HOSA will also be holding a collection box and coordinating pick-ups in Dr. Haro’s room (S114) for these supplies. HOSA members will be able to obtain hours in doing so once the set-up occurs. Any further questions can be directed towards the contact at [email protected]
