The big question for a while has been when will kids be able to get a COVID-19 vaccine? Based on recent studies, it may be possible for a potential vaccine for students. There has been recent clinical trials proving that by the end of this summer, there may be a COVID vaccine for students. So far, vaccines for kids of ages 5 to 11 could potentially be accessible. Pfizer and BioNTech have asked the FDA for an emergency use authorization on their vaccine for children of the ages of 12-15.  In March, the companies claimed that their vaccine was 100% successful on a trial of more than 2,000 young adults. Side effects were seen more in adults than adolescents.

The vaccine could be a huge breakthrough with the educational economy. It would get more kids in the classroom and help them learn more easily. Since the Corona Virus hit, it has effected education is many ways. There has been delays with State testing, semesters, and student learning. One of the biggest challenges was getting children the correct supplies for virtual learning because some people don’t have enough money to afford a computer, laptop, tablet and other electronic devices needed for virtual learning. Young children have also been a challenge. Since they don’t have a long attention span when it comes to learning, it was difficult getting them to pay attention in class. The vaccine could help out by getting the students back into the real classrooms where kids can truly focus on what is in front of them and not get distracted by little things.

With this vaccine getting ready to be released in a few months, people believe it could make wonders happen in education.  Students will get a better sense of normality since this began. The hopes of the student vaccine coming out by the end of this year is a realistic goal and something that just about this whole nation is counting on.
