Black Women

poem (334x231)What are we in this world?

I seem to think about this a lot.

I ask my mom, she says were precious,

I ask my nana, she says we’re 1 and a billion

What are we in this world?

I seem to think, we are all each other.

I see no color of race, I only see what matters most.

I see beauty, power, intelligence, and love.

I only see what matters most.

So I ask again, what are we in this world?

My aunt says were

Anything and everything,

We managed to walk

Into the white house as the first Lady of America.

What are we in this world?

I seem to think as someone

I know, who once quoted,

“I am you, you are me,

And we are only evolving

Into something so much more.”

So when I ask what are we in this world?

I know the answer, we are

Nothing.
