Hello Wolves,

Welcome to the Howler News.  On this site you will find stories, both written and filmed, that concern the student community of Westside High School.

Located in the far west end of sprawling Houston, Texas, Westside is a comprehensive high school in the Houston Independent School District.  The school opened in the fall of 2000, and houses an enrollment of nearly 3,000 students, with 200+ faculty and staff on hand.  Students, 9 – 12, are guided into one of the most diverse curriculum offerings in the state.  If you can imagine it, Westside offers it.

Howler News is a division of  Westside Journalism and Student media programs.  All staff members are enrolled in Newspaper, with experienced students taking the class for Honors.   The site will also periodically feature stories from writers at large.

Being a live paper, we can update constantly.  With few limitations, and revolving deadlines, there is always something new to read and see.  This staff is so incredibly ambitious, our editors can’t keep up.
