I Lost My Best Friend

Two best friends (the minion and the crocodile) were enjoying their day at Westside High School. They were just walking in the halls after lunch minding their own business. And suddenly, the crocodile trips on the stairs and falls in to the ground leaving him unconscious. Then, a student comes up and for being an evil person, he steps on him ending up killing him, so the Minion starts to mourn his deceased best friend. :'(

Levi and Javier, both seniors at Westside, are enrolled in Journalism for the first time. They are both excited to be seniors.

The curious cat wonders in the hall trying to find all the jolly Christmas vibes. He visits Santa in N1, then makes his way to the courtyard, still searching for his holiday vibes.

He travels up the stairs, then down the stairs. The curious cat looks everywhere.

He needs his holiday spirit. And as he travels the halls of Westside, meeting new friends along the way, he realizes that the Christmas spirit of adventure and joy was inside him along.

Hello, my name is Kristiani Cerda, I’m in the 10th grade, and I’m a student at Westside High school. My favorite thing to do is cuddle with my dog, Bella. On the weekends, I enjoy taking long naps, and reading books. I aspire to be a nurse, with a little bit of photographer experience. I prefer butterflies over anything.

They say love is for fools, it’s a dangerous game? Do you, do you, wanna play?

Welcome into the garden of Eden, for centuries as a nation we have grown and tremendously. From politics, to social commentary, from gender equality, to feminism, from race, to sexuality; we’ve grown–or have we really? Yes it’s true that we’ve come so far but just like a football sometimes we get penalties, touchdowns, flags, and fouls. June 26, 2015, the Supreme Court ruled that states cannot ban same-sex marriage. Though a law passed, that doesn’t mean it’s really equal. People of the United States still have acrimony toward things they are not use to. Tradition is the cement that has held this country together, and most people don’t even try jack hammer it away.

Letter From Us To You:

Welcome into the garden of Eden. I was guarding my heart for a reason. Call it sin and they might call it treason. I call it love. I was trapped in the dark till you found me. Pull me in let temptation surround me. But the moment your arms are around me, I fall in love. Though their voices may echo, Promise I’ll never let go, Promise you’ll never let go. So what do we do when they say our love is forbidden, and what if I don’t wanna pray our love is forgiven. I’m willing to fight every day of life that I’m given. and breathe in this love scented pollution. Welcome into the new revolution. I call it hope.

Why do we take selfies?

The pictures I took represent “Why do we take selfies? Is society too obsessed with their appearance?”. I have students/ teenagers taking selfies and fixing their appearance in the school mirrors. These pictures bring to light that most teenagers are obsessed with their appearance and want the approval of other people. What I want people to realize is that even though we seek positive approval from others, we should not get too caught up in that headspace and instead we should not be too critical of our flaws but bring attention to our prominent features. Sometimes doing things for ourselves is just enough to bring pleasure.

Corporate Greed & Pollution of This World

When the greed of large-scale companies surpasses the foresight of a habitable future, an obvious problem is formed: Man values productivity and money, than a planet which contains all of life as we know it. When corporations buy out their politicians, and find loopholes to disperse their damaging waste, we as a collective of people feel the blow-back.

Questions that this series conveys are “should we as humans should let nature reclaim people dominated areas?” and “is it our duty to preserve nature and limit our need for infrastructure? My goal for this project was to capture how man-made products interact with the natural elements of earth. I want to communicate to viewers that we should take certain measures to preserve nature and learn how to coexist with it.
