Seniors spent the night on blades having the time of their lives! On Wednesday, November 28th, Westside High School’s annual Senior Skate Night tradition took place. From 7 pm to 9 pm, seniors skated the night away with their peers at the Dairy Ashford Roller Rink.

The students also put their hearts out on the rink, competing in multiple skating races. The first major race of the night was the women’s race in which all females competing had to skate one lap as fast as possible. Gabriela Smith was able to pull out the win in that race, scoring first place. The next major race was the men’s race in which so many men were passionate to compete that they had to be broken up into two separate racing groups. After splitting up, Austin Hill won part one of this men’s race, and part two of this race was won by Hunter Vignos. Last but not least was the race for everyone who placed top three in any of the previous competitions. The speedy Austin Hill was able to take the win in this competition as well, showing that he could dominate the rink continuously.

With a night filled with skating, music, fun, and seniors all rocking their best retro attire, it was definitely one for the books! Senior Skate Night is and always will be one of the most prominent Westside traditions!
