Once upon a time, there was a hen and a farmer. One day, the hen overheard the farmer talking on the phone.

“Hello?” Said the farmer.

“How many do you want?”

“Okay, I’ll see what I can do for you.” And he soon hung up the phone. After the hen heard the conversation, she ran back to the hen house.

“Girls! Girls! Wake Up! The Farmer is trying to sell us!” The hens were frantic! All the chickens in the coop gasped in horror.

“What?!” They said, “I don’t want to leave!” So all the hens formed a circle and started to sing the “I know I’m not the only one” by Sam Smith.

As they sang the song, they had a recurring thought going on through their heads. They thought, “What about our eggs?!” They wanted to make sure their eggs would be okay. By the time they finished singing the song, they tried to gather their eggs into a big bag and they went into hiding.

The main hen said, “I know I’m not the only one that is afraid, but we have to stick together.” Little did the others know, the main hen wanted the other hens to die. So while all the hens packed their eggs and things, the main hen ran to the barn and hid in a bale of hay. She watched the farmer walk into the hen house and pick each hen up one by one, loading them onto the truck. Once she saw the framer get into the truck and leave the gates, she knew she was safe. She knew she could raise her babies in peace.
