Cranberry Juice Craze

I love cranberry juice…with a passion. Cranberry Juice is made from crushed acidic cranberries, some types with added sugar as well as other fruit juices. The deep red juice is rich in flavor, being sweet and tart with a sour edge to add some punch! And not to mention the health benefits, which are through the roof. Protecting against cancer, promoting heart, skin, dental and hormonal health cranberry juice is a jack of all trades! Refreshing and tasteful you simply cannot go wrong with cranberry juice. An underrated beverage, being at the top of my list over orange and apple, cranberry juice deserves the hype.

Did you know that Cranberry juice is rich in vitamin C, which we all know helps in keeping our immune systems healthy and strong. Cranberry Juice being the doctor that it is, will have you feeling less drowsy and less under the weather in no time!  Especially being true as we all deal with the sniffles and common colds during allergy season. Taking a shot of cranberry juice can provide you with a boost of energy and make those sick symptoms seem to fade away, dialing down the drastic effects of the flu.  Coffee and tea now have a rival, no longer being in a league of their own.

Interestingly, cranberry juice also aids in skin health. In a generation obsessed with looks and outward appearance you may feel stress the second you see a pimple forming on your face. What if you had an important interview one morning? You wake up nervous, but excited, stroll to the restroom to get ready for the big day and as you look in mirror, your reflection staring back at you in panic and disbelief, you notice a huge, pus filled pimple that has appeared smack dab in the middle of your forehead. Definitely not ideal. To our rescue, the exceptional antiseptic qualities of cranberry juice can help prevent acne formation on our faces. What a blessing right! The high acid content related to its tart taste aids in the production of collagen, an important protein your body produces, which in turn makes your skin appear soft as a baby, radiant, and glowing like the Christmas lights during the holiday season.

For all the insomniacs out there, this one’s for you! Cranberry juice is enriched with enormous quantities of melatonin, often referred to as the “sleep hormone.” So if you struggle with falling asleep, tossing and turning in bed for what seems like eternity, unable to shut those wide awake eyes of yours, maybe consider pouring a glass of cold cranberry juice right before bed! And enjoy the sweet sleep benefits it has to offer!

So the next time you are in a hurry, and dash into the gas station for a quick snack. Put down the soda and grab the cranberry juice. Both soda and cranberry juice taste good, but which is good for you? Choose wisely. The answer is simple. More cranberry juice. You won’t be sorry, not your health, not your energy, and certainly not your tastebuds!
